QupZilla (now known as Falkon) is a free, open-source, and lightweight web browser initially developed by Czech programmer David Rosca in 2010. Originally created as an educational project, it grew into a full-featured browser recognized for its speed and low system resource usage.
In 2017, the QupZilla project was officially adopted by the KDE desktop environment and was later renamed Falkon. Key Features of QupZilla / Falkon

The Engine Switch: Early versions of QupZilla used the QtWebKit engine, but as that became deprecated, the browser migrated to QtWebEngine (a wrapper for the Chromium browser core).
The Rebrand: Following its adoption by KDE in 2017, the browser was officially rebranded as Falkon.
Modern Status: While the name “QupZilla” is largely a retired moniker for legacy versions, the active and maintained project carries on today as Falkon.
