In sports, goals and angles dictate positioning and scoring success.
The Goal: The physical post and net structure where teams score points.
The Shooting Angle: The visible space a player has to shoot into the net. Standing directly in front of the net provides a wide, open angle. Standing far to the side creates an “acute angle,” leaving very little space to score.
“Cut Down the Angle”: A strategy where a goalkeeper moves forward away from their line. This uses their physical size to block out the open space, leaving the shooter with almost no net to aim at.
